Bro. Ernie continues the journey into The Book of ACTS - get your Bible, your notebook and your highlighters ready!!!

Belief is easy to say, but hard to live and Acts 13 forces the question: if faith never produces repentance, what did we actually believe? Around the table, we continue our simple discipleship Bible study through Acts 13 (part two), tracking Paul’s sermon in the synagogue at Pisidian Antioch and watching how he builds the gospel straight from Israel’s story.

We walk from Saul to David and then to Jesus, showing why the Old Testament is not background noise but the foundation Paul uses to prove the Messiah. We talk about David as “a man after God’s own heart” and why his real strength is not perfection but honest repentance that refuses to ignore the ways sin grieves God. From there, we connect John the Baptist’s ministry to a practical call: repentance is not optional add-on material. It is the direction change that proves belief is real.

We also wrestle with how people can hear the prophets read every Sabbath and still miss what God is saying when expectations get in the driver’s seat. That leads into a timely conversation about staying focused on Jesus’ promise to return, witnessing with urgency, and making room to truly listen to God instead of treating prayer like a shopping list. If you want an Acts Bible study that ties together prophecy, faith and works, justification, and the resurrection of Jesus with clear application, you’ll feel right at home here.

Welcome Back Around The Table

SPEAKER_01

Thank you so much for joining me on the journey to the next room. So we have a smaller piece to say. Welcome to Simple Disciple Shipping Filter. I'm your host, Sister Diane, and it's so good to have you with us today. Here we are around the table. Finally, once again, seems like we haven't been together forever, right? We've all been doing summer stuff and been out on mission trips, and Brother Ernie's taking care of mama and himself. And so we're joined back up together. School starts back in session today. Grandbaby's uh started back in the morning. So you're back on your schedule too. So yeah, yeah, grandbaby started back today this morning. Saw the little back to school pictures, and it was really sad. And Wesley looks so grown, and and the girls and babies in kindergarten, so she everybody's in school for all the whole day.

SPEAKER_00

Only all I had to worry about was being on time to class and doing homework. Those were the days. Oh, that was a mistake.

SPEAKER_01

So we could pay bills. All right. Well, it's so good to have everybody. Yeah, it's possible. It's so good to have everybody around the table. And uh we've got Sister Audia, good morning, uh brother Ernie, good morning, sister Ann, Sister Helen. She's back there, Sister Sandy, sister Tammy, and Sister Joy. All right, so

Reading Paul’s Sermon In Acts 13

SPEAKER_01

we're all in class today, and we're getting to continue our simple presentation of the book of Acts. We're on chapter 13, part two. All right, brother Ernie. Why don't you go ahead?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, well, we'll dive right in. We're gonna start today. We're gonna read verses 21 through 41, and we're gonna try to get through all of them if at all possible. It's a lengthy reading, but we're enjoying this study and hope you're enjoying it also. It's been great fun for me. So we're gonna start reading at verse 21, and just a reminder: Paul is addressing the synagogue in Antioch of Pisidian. He and Barnabas are establishing an evangelistic pattern right now. They're beginning this now. And they first approach the local synagogue, preaching to the local Jewish community. This community, though, includes not only Jews, but Gentile proselytes to the Jewish faith. And as those Gentile proselytes become converted to Christ, we will see them going out winning Gentiles who are not proselytes to Christ. So we're seeing the beginnings of what's going to be a Jewish and Gentile church. So we're gonna continue now, Paul's address, starting with verse 21. We'll read 21 through 41, and as is our habit, we'll go back and uh talk about what we've read. And after they desired, and afterwards, excuse me, afterward they desired a king. And God gave unto them Saul, the son of Ces, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king, to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Savior, Jesus. When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel, and as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he, but behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose. Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him, and though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him up from the dead, and he was seen of them many days which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you, glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us, their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again, as it is also written in the second song, Thou art my God, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead. Now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine holy one to see corruption. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep and was laid unto his fathers and saw corruption. But he whom God raised again saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins, and by him all that believe are justified from all things from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken of in the prophets. Behold ye despisers and wonder and perish. For I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you. All

Saul, David, And God’s Preparation

SPEAKER_00

right. Now we're gonna go back and begin again, and I'm gonna read the scripture to you in portions, and then we're gonna talk about the portions and go through the rest of the chapter. So first I'm going to read verses twenty-one and twenty two. And afterward they desired a king, and God gave unto them Saul, son of Kees, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king, to whom also he gave testimony and said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will. So here we're seeing Paul's address continuing. This is, I guess we're a little over midway through his address to the Jewish congregation there in Antioch of Pisidia. He continues to explain how God has moved through the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob throughout their history. And he has come to the time when God will give Israel a king, their first king. He is Saul from the family of Kish of the tribe of Benjamin. Now the New Testament spelling is C-I-S, but the Aramaic and Hebrew pronunciation would be Kish. Now, history would prove Saul was chosen to be king in order to prepare the hearts of Israel to be ready to receive the humble shepherd boy, turned giant, killer, as their next king. And I want you to think about this in God's order of doing things. When he picks Saul to be king, Saul was a humble man trying to avoid the job. He said, My family is the smallest family in the smallest tribe. You really don't need me. But God can use the weak things of this earth to confound the strong. When he chose David, David was a shepherd boy. We think he was between 13 and 15 years old. And some say 17. And when he was anointed. And he was the shepherd boy, and he was the least of his brothers. And God took him from being a shepherd boy and made him the king's personal assistant. And he became known as a psalmist, singing psalms to soothe the heart of the king when he was having trouble. He went from that to being a soldier, a giant killer, to being a captain of the king's army, a part of his personal guard. He went from that to being a prince. And something you should study about David becoming a prince. You remember the covenant he made with Jonathan? Do any of you here remember that? When David and Jonathan made covenant, they exchanged clothes. That meant David walked away with the clothes of the prince. And the prince walked away with the clothes of the shepherd who could become a warrior. Then David married Michael, which made him a prince by marriage. Then David became a king. Whatever God has called you to, he will prepare you along the way in order to serve in that capacity. And you must not think you do not have a calling in the kingdom of God. Everyone has a place in the kingdom. Everybody say amen.

SPEAKER_03

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't hear that. Amen. Everybody has something to do in the kingdom. So history will prove that Saul was really the precursor in order to get the people of Israel their hearts ready for David to be their king. And God said of David in 1 Samuel 13, 14. Do you have that audio?

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

1 Samuel 3.

SPEAKER_00

13 and 14. We find that he had chosen David, him, as a man after his own heart to be the next king of Israel. Go ahead and read that scripture, sister.

SPEAKER_04

13 and 14. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to become commander over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.

SPEAKER_00

So here, David was destined to be king because even though Saul was chosen, God seeing time from an eternal perspective, he knows how far Saul is going to go and where Saul's reign will have to stop. So David is chosen to be the next king of Israel. And a study of David's life made me think, my opinion, that his superpower that made him so close to God was his ability to genuinely and honestly repent. Understanding that when he sinned, he grieved God. Make sure that as you study the scripture, you follow the life of David. The more you understand what's written in the old covenant, the more sense the New Testament will make to you. So God said of David in 1 Samuel 13 and 14 that he had chosen him because he was a man after his own heart. And whenever David realized that he had sinned, his own heart was broken because he knew his sin grieved God. You know what? You might want to find to go along with that note in your studies where Paul taught the church, grieve not the Holy Spirit. David understood sin, his sin, grieved the heart of God. This made him a man after God's own heart. Lord, we want to understand when we err, when we make a wrong choice, when we inadvertently or because we are strong-willed, go back to a sin, it grieves the Spirit of God. It grieves him. Because anything that separates us from God separates us from God's purpose and the ability to experience his love in that particular situation. I personally like to imagine that when the apostles were teaching, especially Jewish believers, the special nuances of God's presence in their history actually thrills their hearts. I also find in my life, the more I understand how God manifested Himself in the Old Testament, the more alive the New Testament becomes. Beware of people who start teaching you the Word of God with statements like, I'm a New Testament believer, as though the New Testament is all there is to the Word of God. You will find in 1 Corinthians 10, this is not in your notes, so you probably want to write it down. And so we need to be able to see the tendencies of our weaknesses so that we can do battle against them and prepare to overcome them. All right, now we're going to begin reading at verse 23, and we're going to read 23 through 25. Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Savior,

David’s Repentance And Loving Scripture

SPEAKER_00

Jesus. When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel, and as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he, he being a reference to the Messiah. But behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to lose. So David, furthermore, understood, at least it seems to me, he understood that the Messiah would be his actual physical, familial descendant. Now, something for you to read after this study is 2 Samuel chapter 7. And I can't stress for you how important it is that you have a regular diet, daily diet of reading your word and talking to God about it. And if you have someone to discuss it with, that's even better. Get familiar with the Old Testament. We know that the ministry of John the Baptist, we know that he preached that he was preparing the way for someone greater than himself. Do you know where the testimony of John the Baptist's coming or the prophecy, prophecies in the Old Testament of John the Baptist and when he would arrive? Use your reference study Bibles. Use a concordance. And if you don't have those, even though you must verify it, use Wikipedia, use Google, because not everything they say is on point. So always verify whatever you find there. Use commentaries if you have them. Let these things become clear in your mind so that as you read the Word of God, it begins to make much more sense to you. 2 Samuel chapter 7. When you find there where David understands that his descendant, one of his descendants, will be the Messiah, I want you to come back and let me know you found that. And discuss it with each other. Prove it with one another. Okay? Now, and find where John the Baptist is prophesied of his coming. Now, if you look at the Gospel of Saint John, chapter one, and read verses 24 through 34, then use your reference Bibles to note some corroborating scriptures. You'll be able to see that. John the Baptist ministry was grounded in repentance from sin. Not just from sin, but towards God. And give me Matthew chapter three, verse eight. So John said, don't just say you've repented. Make sure you're moving towards God with fruits that prove your repentance. This is moving from your past life into your new life. That's something we want to do. All right. And please, you'll hear it a lot of places online, on TV, on the radio. You will hear preachers say, only believe, and once you believe, you are saved. If you're believing Doesn't make you repent. We don't know what you have believed. Okay? And remember this illustration. We're sitting in this room, and I tell you, you need to believe in this fire that's in the floor. It's about to consume this room. You sit in that chair and say, I believe, what good does that belief do you? If you understand fire and you believe, you get yourself out of here.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If you say you believe and you're not inspired to repentance, an incomplete gospel is being preached to you.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And there's only one gospel. Everybody say amen.

SPEAKER_03

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So we're going to pick up now with verse 26. And let me see. My notes are sticking together here. I'm going to read verse 26 through 30. And then we're going to come back and comment on those verses. Paul continues to speak. Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham. And here's how he's going to let you know that there's some Gentile proselytes in the synagogue. And whosoever among you feareth God. They wouldn't be in the synagogue if they weren't proselytes at least, or studying to be a proselyte. They wouldn't be in the Jewish synagogue otherwise. To you is the word of this salvation sent. So everything that was prophesied in the Old Testament regarding the Messiah, not only was it prophecy to the Hebrews, it was salvation, understanding of the salvation that would be preached for us. And it's what the apostles used to preach the New Testament, the new covenant doctrine of salvation. To prove that Jesus is who the scripture says he is. Verse 27. For they that dwell at Jerusalem and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead, and he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. Oh, I skipped a verse, didn't I? No, I didn't. From Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. All right. So

John’s Call To Repentance

SPEAKER_00

we talked a little bit about 26 already. Okay? The fact that the address is to the children of Abraham, those are Jews by birth, and to whosoever among you feareth God, indicating that there are people in the synagogue who are not Jews by birth. Listen, whosoever among you feareth God, to you this word of salvation is sent. Where there is no, I'm going to repeat it, where there is no genuine repentance, there is no fear of God or faith in God. And get Genesis 22. You're going to read verses 11 through 13. And Audia, you're going to read from the book of Hebrews, verses 17 through 19. So I want those pages to turn like lightning.

SPEAKER_04

Hebrews what?

SPEAKER_00

Hebrews 11. 17 through 19.

SPEAKER_03

And 22 was 11 through 13.

unknown

11 through 13.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven. Called to Abraham. Called to Abraham. And he and said, Abraham, Abraham. So Abraham said, Here I am. And he said, Do not lay your head on the lad or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God.

SPEAKER_00

Wait a minute. He called Abraham from Ur of the Chaldees. And God knows everything past, present, and future. But he says to Abraham, Now I know, because they're sharing an experience in time. And that experience says that Abraham's faith compelled him. Abraham's belief compelled him to obey God and take Isaac up on the mountain. If we're going to say we believe in him, but we're not going to repent of our sins. What in the world have we believed about a God who is holy and righteous and pure?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And who is also the righteous judge. Hebrews chapter 11, verses 17 through 19 audio.

SPEAKER_04

By faith, Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, who he had received, the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom he said, It is Isaac, your seed shall be called, concluding that God was able to raise him up even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

SPEAKER_00

So here's the deal. Right? But as much as his faith was tested along the way, it's different because Isaac is the miracle child. Notice how the writer of the Hebrews goes back to Israeli history in Genesis with Abraham and Isaac to prove the faith of the new covenant. God hasn't changed. We're saved by faith. And if the faith doesn't produce in us a different life, what if we believed? So it wasn't good enough for Abraham to look at God and say, I believe. Abraham had to leave Ur of the Chaldees. Abraham had to leave Haran. Abraham had to go to Canaan. Abraham had to say, you know what? Hagar was not the answer to my prayer. God made this promise when it was just me and Sarah. And he had to believe for Isaac. And then when he received Isaac, the son of the promise, he had to believe, even if I kill him, he's got to live again because God can't break his word.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

So true faith. True faith. Faith produces works. We are not saved by works. We're saved by faith. But faith that does not produce a change in us is not faith. Because faith is a living thing. You know, we all like to read from Ephesians, by grace, you are saved through faith, and that not of yourself. It is a gift of God. But he said, but we are the, you gotta keep reading past Ephesians 3 and 8. We are the workmanship of God, created unto good works that he has called us. So we're saved by faith, but propelled into good works that are ordained by the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Not works that we did to save ourselves. Jesus saves us.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

But the works that are produced are the testimony that God is changing our lives. And if the good works of God are not being produced in us, we need to seek the Lord to help us to be obedient. You know, you know your kid loves you when they're little because they say they love you. But the first time they take out the trash without you telling them, you know they've learned something else about love because it brings with it obedience. Yes. The first time they mow the lawn without you saying, hey, mow the lawn. First time they clean their room without you threatening them within an inch of their life.

unknown

I don't

Faith That Obeys Like Abraham

unknown

know those children.

SPEAKER_00

So it is with God as we grow in our relationship with Him, because we fear God. And then he goes on to say in verse 27, for they that dwell at Jerusalem and their rulers did not know him. How is it they did not know him? They did not understand the scriptures or the prophecy, and they gave them their own interpretation. What they wanted them to believe, why didn't they know that Jesus, who was nailed to the cross and rose from the dead, was their Messiah? Because when the prophecies came forth about the Messiah, they always thought, oh, the Messiah is going to restore the kingdom of Israel. They thought that so strong. Added stuff to the lesson. If you'll go to Acts chapter 1, I'll read this with you. I'll read this this time. Acts chapter 1. My Bible's getting old and worn, and pages sticking together. Acts chapter 1. I'm looking at verse 6. Jesus had already told them to go wait for the promise of Father. John baptized with water, you'll be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. After he said that, listen to their question. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? Will you give us a king like Solomon? Will you do it now? How did Jesus answer them?

unknown

It's not for you now.

SPEAKER_00

Verse 9. I'm sorry, verse 7. It is not for you to know. Why are you even asking this question?

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That's not to say there isn't prophetic things happening in the nation of Israel. But the coming of the Lord does not depend upon them. Jesus said, I go away to prepare a place for you, and if I go away, I will come again and receive you unto myself. There are wonderful, miraculous things that have happened to the Jews ever since, because they're the children of Abraham and God keeps every promise.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

But the return of Christ is built upon two other scriptures to my understanding. Jesus said, When this gospel has been preached to the whole world, then the end shall come. Then the end shall come. It's not happened yet. So let's not let's not let our faith rise and fall by what's happening in Israel. Let's look at that and be appreciative of everything God is doing there, proving that he still loves his people, that he has not abandoned the love for Israel. We believe someday all Israel will be saved. We look for that. I'm going to confess to those of you that are more into what you think the future is going to be. There's a lot of things I'm not sure of, but I'm sure Jesus is coming.

SPEAKER_03

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm sure I need to be ready when he gets here.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I like seeing things that have happened. Israel become a nation again. And I like the way that they're able to defend themselves. I think that's great. I want to see as much of that as I can. But Jesus said, I go away to prepare a place for you, and when I have done that, I will come back again and receive you unto myself. He's preparing a place, and we're making sure the gospel is preached to the whole world. And when these things are done, we're taking off. So that means you need to be busy witnessing for Jesus. Because every time you witness to someone who doesn't know the Lord, not only are you helping them, but you are involved in hastening the coming of the Lord. How badly do we want him to come?

SPEAKER_04

Very, very badly.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. So they that dwell at Jerusalem and their rulers, they didn't know him because they didn't understand the voices of the prophets. They read Isaiah, and all they could see in Isaiah's prophecy was the conquering king.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They didn't see the suffering Messiah who, after he's died, his seed prospers. A dead man can't give seed.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

They did not understand the prophecies of the Lord because they made up their mind from the covenant of David and the promise that was made to David. It has

Misreading Messiah And Watching Israel

SPEAKER_00

to be a king after the order of Solomon. But as you read 1 Samuel 7, as you study it, you'll see the word forever related to the descendant of David that will reign forever. That means he won't die. Jesus is the only King of kings that will never die. Do I have that correct? Yes. In verse 28, and though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. So they didn't understand the prophets that were read to them every day and every Sabbath, and they didn't realize they were fulfilling them in condemning him. When they saw him on the cross, they should have understood Psalm 22. But these most learned Sadducees, Pharisees, and members of the Sanhedrin, Levites, and those of the priestly order did not put it together because they had a view of the Messiah that was molded by their own minds and not by scripture. If you remember when they were arguing about what are we going to do about Lazarus, he's risen from the dead, Caiaphas prophesied and he didn't even know it. But John says he prophesied, he said, one man has to die for the nation. But John, who was writing that in his gospel, he understood it because God had opened his understanding where he could understand the scripture, and with the anointing of the Holy Ghost came the unveiling of Scripture. But that which you do not study cannot be unveiled.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That's why it's important. If you want the scripture to come alive, if you want illumination and revelation from the Word of God to leap into your soul, you have to prayerfully study it, pray over it, and every now and then stop asking God for anything. And just wait in case He wants to talk to you. How many times have I used my wife as an example when we were dating? I called her nearly every day. And I started telling her a little bit about my day, and I'd ask her how she is. And then you know what I did? I shut up because I wanted to hear her voice. If we can do that for humans that we love, how is it we can't shut up and listen for the voice of God? We got to stop treating him like Santa Claus. Because there ain't no sense in trying to tell him how you've been nice. He can see he sees everything, you know.

SPEAKER_03

He sees he's all knowing and all seeing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's right. So even though, after all of that, in the condemning of Jesus, they were making scripture come fulfilled in their lives. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. Kill him. Pilate even said, I don't see a crime. I tell you what, I'll beat him to keep the political peace. But there's, I find no fault in him. I'm beating him to satisfy you. So I find no fault in him. Finally, he said, You know what? You crucify him. I'll wash my hands of it. I'll turn him over to you. At one point, he kept saying, Well, one when gospel writer says this yet, no fault in him, he's done nothing. They said, He is not a friend of Caesar. He says he's a king. If you're a friend of another king other than Caesar, you're hey, that was threatening him politically. Oh, yeah, you take him, you crucify him.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He was not about to give up his affluence or influence, even though he knew Jesus was innocent. This is why the scripture tells us Paul says the love of many money is the root of all evil. The pride of life, the lust for money for the things of the world. It's not wrong to have, it's wrong for those things to be worshipped.

Study, Listen, And Let Scripture Open

SPEAKER_00

It's wrong for us to hang our self-worth on those things. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in the sepulchre. And even then, Psalm 22, which they read all the time, didn't come alive in their hearts. All right. And verse 30. But God raised him from the dead. You need to find that. You need to find where that's written in the Old Testament. You the way the prophets write now, it takes some prayer. Because they don't always have visions in order and sequence that things are gonna happen. All right. Verse 31 and 32. Are we running out of time? Oh, I need to finish.

SPEAKER_01

Just finish.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna read verse 31 through 32, but God, uh, I'm sorry. Let me get it here. And he was seen of them many days which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same. Tell you what, let's do. Let's stop right here. Mark that in your notes. And before we do the next podcast, when we do the next podcast, we'll come back and close this out. I would rather do that. How do y'all feel about that?

SPEAKER_02

That's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Are we in agreement here? Yes. Because I don't want to make you do that if you don't have space for it. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds great.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. 31. We'll pick it up at 31.

SPEAKER_01

All right. So we'll continue that chapter 13, part two.

SPEAKER_00

And we'll finish with verses 31 through 41. And it'll be a briefer study, but we'll keep things in order.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, keep everything in order. All right. Well, we appreciate your time, Brother Ernie. We're so grateful that you join us today. Thank y'all for joining us for a simple presentation of the Book of Acts. And I want to encourage you if you have not listened to all of the other parts of this study, please go back and start from the beginning.

SPEAKER_00

I get too excited along the way and start inserting new things that are not going to be.

SPEAKER_01

Here's the thing. We can have a podcast where we just talk, or we can have a podcast where we're actually learning and getting into the word. And I I love the Bible study part of it. You know, that's the simple discipleship, is to take what what's just there, but you're expanding it throughout all of scripture. And I think that's so important. And that helps teach us our books of the Bible, that helps teach us just, you know, how God is just from the very beginning all through time. So I think it's just so relative as to what you're teaching, Brother Anine. I'm so grateful for you.

SPEAKER_00

I'm having a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know they are too. Everybody really enjoys this class. And we have people telling us over at the Jesus House that they're listening in, and and our numbers are reflecting it because we're growing every

week. And so we're excited about that. So again, go like and share and follow us on your platforms wherever that is for your podcast. Please do that. Go to our YouTube page if you want to see Brother Ernie in the flesh giving this lesson. You can go over to our simple discipleship button filtered there and see him as he's teaching it. See how he's doing. It's great.

SPEAKER_00

You don't have to see this crazy man.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's old and crazy.

SPEAKER_01

But we're so grateful for you. Thank you so much. Thank y'all for joining us. And and and and let's just leave with our slogan that we always say to go show some love, show some compassion.
