Around the Table join Sis. Diana, Sis. Anne and Sis. Audia as we discuss how headlines hardened hearts, but ours broke. We watched people celebrate a killing and felt the weight of what that says about our culture—and about our souls. That grief led us straight to the question that matters most: are we actually ready to meet Jesus if he came today?

We share why “rapture ready” isn’t about a bumper sticker or a borrowed faith. It’s about repentance, surrender, and a living relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. We open 1 Thessalonians 4 and Matthew’s last-days warnings to lay a clear foundation: no one knows the hour, but everyone can be ready. If your heart is heavy, angry, or numb, there’s room at the cross—again and again. Repentance isn’t shame; it’s the door back to life.

To anchor hope beyond headlines, we trace the Feasts of the Lord and how Jesus fulfilled the spring feasts with stunning precision. Passover reveals him as the perfect lamb. Unleavened Bread points to his sinless burial. Firstfruits proclaims his resurrection. Pentecost delivers the promised Spirit in us, not just with us. These aren’t trivia points; they are God’s timeline, reminding us that redemption is deliberate and personal. The torn veil means you have direct access to God right now—no pedigree, no middleman, just grace.

We end with a simple charge: let scripture be your final authority, not the noise of the moment. Choose the Spirit over the flesh in your words and your witness. Mourn with those who mourn. Pray for hearts to soften. And if you’ve been drifting, come home today. If this conversation stirred you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review to help more people find their way back to hope. (*Recorded on 9.18.2025)

I would love your feedback and topic suggestions!

Welcome And Purpose Of The Conversation

SPEAKER_00

Hi, of the simple sistership and filter. I'm your home sister. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey today. So could it be a treaty? Let's open the word and see what Jesus has to say today. Hey, welcome to Civil Discipleship Unfiltered. I'm Sister Diana, and I'm so glad that you're joining us today on this very special video podcast, in which we're going to be talking about one of the main things going around right now. We're going to talk about where our world is right now with all of the Charlie Kirk incident and just where we see ourselves now in Bible prophecy. Glad to be joined around the table beside each other, Sister Audia Davis. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. How are you, Sister Ann Atkins? Good afternoon. Now you can put faces to the names when you've listened to Simple Discipleship Unfiltered in the past. Now we have over uh uh almost a hundred uh episodes of Simple Discipleship. If you've never heard us before, please just go to your platform that you use, whether it's gonna be Spotify or on uh Amazon or Google or um Podbeam or iHeartRadio, um, whatever that you use, thank you for joining us here today on this YouTube channel. Now we're gonna be sharing this out on all of our platforms TikTok, Instagram, um, and YouTube. So please let us know where you're watching us from. And we do want to know your comments. Um, if you're gonna be ugly, um, go ahead and comment. I want to pray for you. Yeah, I put on my Facebook, my uh Facebook today, I said, if you have reveled in the death of someone recently and celebrated it, don't unfriend me. Message me. I want to pray for you. I want to pray for that hate in your heart because that's not Jesus. And eternity is closer than you think. And oh yeah, right, right. So yeah, so the day we wanted to come together, we just kind of made a makeshift uh place here. We don't have our studio. Um, and we just because we just felt the urgency to talk about what everything that's going on right now. Um, last week, of course, uh, if you're watching this later date, this is uh September the 18th, yes, uh, 2025. And uh September the 10th, Charlie Kirk was assassinated um for advocating for free speech. Now, whether you agreed with the speech that he did um really is up to you. But we can never advocate for a person's death, regardless of what their beliefs are. Um, and so that's really where you know my heart has hurt. You know, I don't think I've ever cried over someone that I didn't really know. I mean, other than I mean, you know, I listened to him, you know, and I I but you know, I'm a 56-year-old woman. I really don't sit around and listen to Charlie Kirk, you know, all the time. He wasn't like on my, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I watched his reels more than I think we all watched his reels.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so I mean, you know, and and but to see his widow and his little children uh that are affected by this, and his parents and sister and things like that. So our heart hurts for our heart hurts for the family and and our our love goes out to Erica and the kids, and and um, you know, we just want to discuss where are we at culturally if people are celebrating the death of person.

SPEAKER_02

It just hurt my heart. Um, regard regardless of the person's beliefs, they are a human being. They do not deserve to have their life cut short because you don't like what they say or you don't like the way they look, or their pronoun. You know, seriously. Yeah. It just re and and it's just regardless of how you feel, you have to have some empathy for the rest of this world. You have to.

Empathy, Grief, And Human Dignity

SPEAKER_01

I I I think that everybody should have somewhere in their heart, no matter how cold it is or how warm it is, that they have a place in their heart for the death of someone. Yeah, just it doesn't it's just a human human kindness. Yeah. You know, you you I don't care if you liked him or not, you can at least his children, you should be in grief grieving for them not having a father anymore to to tuck them in at night and read them bedtime stories and and play with them. And you know that that's gonna be grow up without a father, that's gonna be the hardest thing for those kids right now.

Are You Rapture Ready

SPEAKER_00

But you know, when you when you say um that that someone's killed for their political belief, for their spiritual belief, don't we have to go back in time and realize that that's the reason why Jesus was crucified in the first place? You know, because he he was a Jew who didn't think living by the law was no longer necessary or going to be necessary because it did not bring salvation. Yeah, you know, it couldn't be. There had to be a perfect lamb, you know, for for um for the sins of the world, and he became that for us. And and that's one of the things we want to talk about today is are you rapture ready? Yeah, absolutely. Do you see yourself, you know, in in all this political climate and all this upheaval and all the things that are going on bad, good, ugly, horrible? Um are you the person watching this, the person listening to this, do you think you are rapture ready? Now, a lot of people want to know what does that mean? Well, if you don't know what that means, uh, we know that in uh 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul talks about that there is an event called an harpazo, a catching up a calling up, a catching away uh thing that happens. And so we we we believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the bride of Christ. Now, if you are saved, that means it doesn't mean that you did a repeat me prayer and you believe in Jesus, but that if you have actually repented, asked Jesus to come and live inside of you in the form of the Holy Spirit, He indwells in you, and you are every single day striving to become more like Him. Right? Right Exactly. Um, it can't be because you got a fish on the back of your car or you've got a honk, I love Jesus bumper sticker.

What Salvation Is And Isn’t

SPEAKER_02

Or you have somebody in your family that's saved and you listen to you. Or your mama nil.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. In Texas, we say just because your mama nil is saved, or your grandma was saved, or or you went to church as a kid, um, that's not enough. No, not that's not enough. Scripture says you've got to Acts 238. Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus, yeah, for the remission of sins. And so we believe that that all comes that all works together to bring us into the right relationship with Jesus. If you have not been saved, if you haven't repented of your sins, repent. It's such a simple process to repent. Ask ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. We've all sinned and fall short, right? Yes, absolutely. We all have, we could tell you some stories of these just older ladies on the other side of the microphone.

SPEAKER_02

You know, listen to some of the other podcasts.

Daily Repentance And Life In The Spirit

SPEAKER_00

You know, like we say, uh, good thing there wasn't no cell phones back in the day. Exactly. No internet. Yeah, because when people told me there would be can't there would be film and pictures after it got developed, that camera disappeared quick. But now everybody's got a camera, everybody, everybody videos everything. But the point being now is we've made mistakes. We have failed the Lord, we have failed in our walk with the Lord. Even after we've been saved, we fail all the time. We all saw, we all fall short. We sin daily, but we repent. And repentance means I'm not I'm not just saying that because I'm sorry that you caught me at this. It's saying, God, I'm so sorry I did that. I know Holy Spirit has convicted me of that, and I want to repent and I want to turn away from that sin so that I'm no longer going in that direction, but I'm making a choice and choosing to go in this right direction. And so that's an everyday choice that all of us as Christians have to do. And if you haven't, if you haven't made that choice, make it. Yeah. Make it because I'm telling you, time is running out. And I'm not gonna date set, I'm not gonna say anything. What we're gonna do in this podcast is we're gonna inform you of some things that we've learned in the last couple of months that we want to share with you. And then you take that information, pray on it. I I challenge you. Everybody goes through all these little reels all the time, but you don't know if you don't know what the word says, you don't know if that's real or not. You can't take face value for what everybody says because everybody got an opinion, like I said earlier, like a boho. Everybody got opinion. You know what I'm saying? Everybody got one, everybody got one. Very true. And and sorry, I'm just from the south. And so um, and so my point is we have to we have to to know that what the word says is true, and it has to be the final say in everything, right? So so what we want to talk to you about today is not just the upheaval and the world and all that, pray for people's hearts, pray that that they would turn toward Jesus. And if you haven't made that decision, that profession of faith, do that, yeah, and just ask him to come and live inside of you. He will, he will, and and that's the the awesome thing about who he is, he will do it, and and I just love that he's amazing like that.

SPEAKER_01

He is amazing. I mean, I have uh prayed short prayers and asked for something to happen, and I said, I know it'll be in your time. But sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it's not yeah, but when it's immediate, it's kind of freaky because you're like, wow, that was fast. You heard it.

SPEAKER_02

Um yeah, and let me just say, regardless of what you hear today, the important message here is come to know Jesus.

Scripture As Final Authority

SPEAKER_00

That's it. That's what it's all about. Yeah. And so here we're talking about the rapture. We're talking about that there is going to come a day where the bride of Christ is called up in the air to meet Jesus. Um, and and those that are considered to be the bride of Christ are those who have made Jesus their Lord and Savior. Yes. Now, I want to be the bride. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Right? I want to be part of the bride.

SPEAKER_00

Now, what happens when we when when that rapture happens? Let's go to First Thessalonians 4 and just read that real quick to them. Maybe they don't know. Um, and is our official uh reader person. Um so if we go over and and listen to what Paul has to say, yeah, uh, you know, why don't you go into Matthew and we'll talk about what Jesus says that's gonna be like on the last days. Um, and like I said, we don't pre-plan these things. They just come out. We just we just knew that there was a lot going on and we wanted to discuss uh with you guys what was happening um and what we feel like the Lord is saying at this moment. But uh, but if we go to let's go over to Matthew first, I want to want you to hear what Jesus has to say. I have to be able to see it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Put your eyes on. Put your eyes on.

SPEAKER_00

Is there a specific verse in chapter four you want? Yeah, I think we're gonna go to 17 and 18, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

The Rapture In 1 Thessalonians

Reading Jesus’ Words In Matthew

How The Bible Is Structured

SPEAKER_00

We were reading it uh yeah there toward the end. But let me let's go over here and read what Jesus had to say first. Okay now if you don't know what do you want how the how the uh let's go to 2420 back. Okay. Um if you don't know how the Bible is lined up, if you don't have a Bible, get you a Bible. If you want a free Bible, reach out to us, we'll send you one. You can go to www.m3mi.org. There is a drop-down screen there, or you can scroll all the way down that says contact. You can put your name, your address, your phone number, and we will mail you a Bible. Yes, and and you're welcome to do that for free. We'll do it for free. Um, but if you don't, if you're not familiar with how scripture is set up, you have your old testament, and your old testament um involved um uh Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number, Deuteronomy, all the way to Malachi. Those were the Old Testament uh uh stories and writings of um Israel, the life of Israel from the beginning of time, Adam and Eve were were created. Um we know that there was Abraham, we know there was Noah, we know that there was, you know, all of these, the Psalms, the Proverbs, um, all through the prophets, uh, the major prophets, minor prophets. The only difference between the two is being what? How large the book is how big their books were. So the major prophet had a bigger book written and the minor prophet had the smaller one, but you have those 66 books when you go over to uh the New Testament. Um, we know we have Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Those are called the synoptics, those are our synopsis of what they have learned or experienced uh with Jesus when Jesus was here on the earth. So a couple of them will talk about his birth. Um and then uh you have John, and John was the beloved, and John uh was the one that wrote his book last, and he gives a more direct um lesson of Jesus and his divinity. Very first uh verse of John 1 and 1 was in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So we know that Jesus came, Jesus was in the beginning, God was in the beginning, Holy Spirit's in the beginning that because they're present at creation um, but then when we get into John 1, he says it wasn't just that it's God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, but they're the one. They are together, they're one. They they uh Jesus was God. He didn't say he was a part of God, he said was God. He wrapped so God wrapped himself in flesh, the creator of the universe wrapped himself in flesh and came as a baby. Yes, it blows my mind, yeah. To say he came as a the most vulnerable thing and state that you could be here to be with us, and and in that he brought salvation not just to the Jews, but as the Gentiles as well. We can be saved. Yes. Um, we're not Jews, we we're not Jews, but scripture says once we received Jesus, we became engrafted into the vine, and and we are we're we're part of that, and so that's why we support Israel. Now that's a whole nother story for another day uh because now there's just people that that did support Israel uh are saying we're not even going to support Israel anymore because we're not supposed to support the um nation of Israel or the country of Israel, we're just supposed to support the Jews. Well, the majority of Jews live in Israel and and we're supposed to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, right? So Jerusalem is in Israel. Okay, so we're gonna we're gonna do another podcast on that next week, but I just want to kind of give you a little synopsis of what we're talking about. So when we get over into Matthew, Matthew gives us this great account of those words in red. Now, if you don't have a King James Bible or a New King James Bible, you won't see those words in red. But what they meant were everywhere that there's words in red is where Jesus Himself was speaking. And so only in the New Testament, yeah, and then because that's where Jesus is, right? That's where Jesus was. And so anywhere that you see words in red, that's Jesus, that's direct from Jesus, said this, quote unquote. And it's important, it's even more important um than inspired words that people speak from God. If Jesus Himself says, I'm the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me. By me, then you can't. So that's a whole nother podcast for another day. But my point is that those words in red are important. And yeah, there's a lot of topics that we can talk about. And we have, you know, kind of in the past. So go back and look at, you know, and listen to some of our other podcasts. But here we see that Jesus is telling us what's it gonna be like in the last day.

SPEAKER_02

Says, but of that day and hour, no one knows, not even the ain't not even the angels. Of he uh no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my father only. As in the days of Noah were, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark. Okay, stop right there.

SPEAKER_00

I want you to go right back there to verse 36, because this is gonna go right into what we're talking about.

SPEAKER_02

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven. Okay, stop right there.

Why Christians Support Israel

Words In Red And Last Days

Feasts Of The Lord: Overview

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I want you to look at something that that's very important, is that when we talk about our Jewish brethren, part of the law that they follow, the Orthodox Jews still follow, Messianic Jews do not, but the orthodox orthodox Jews still follow the law. Now, the law was given in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy called the Pentateuch. It was their word, their scripture that they live by, and in it, the law was given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai. And so in that they began to celebrate uh different feast days. Now, there are there's seven feast days that they follow. They have spring feast days and they have fall feast days. The spring feast days are the Passover, unleavened bread, first fruits, and Pentecost. We get over to the fall feast days, and we have the feast of trumpets, the atonement, and the feast of the tabernacle. Okay, now let's talk, let's talk about these and why they're important. Now, a lot of people say we're not Jewish, we don't follow the feast. Now, we don't we don't like follow the feast, but we do have a Passover Seder meal, we do celebrate the Passover. Um and it's important to understand why. Now, in the Old Testament, um they had a Passover because at one time for 400 years the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt. Okay, if you've heard the story of Moses, okay. So Moses was born um an Israelite and uh he was his parents were in captivity, and there was a uh a decree came out that all of the newborn children, they did this a lot in the scripture, uh, newborn children up to two years would be killed, right? Uh uh the boys. Yeah. And because they said that they were there were too many of them, and that they were gonna overpopulate, and so we need to downsize, uh, you know, uh downsize the population, if you will. And they made a decree, you know, that the up to uh birth to two years had to be killed. And so that when that happened, Moses' mother took him and put him in a basket, and she sent him down the Nile River. Um, and I know it was so led by the Holy Spirit because uh he ends up at the at uh Pharaoh's uh daughters, uh sisters, sisters, yeah. Sisters finds finds him in this basket, knowing that he is uh an Israelite, but she couldn't have children, and she brings him into the family as her own and raises him, and no one's the wiser, right? And so but when he gets older, um he begins to have the tuget of his heart toward um those that are in bondage. And and it comes down to where um he sees you know one of the of the slaves being mistreated, and he kills the guy who's beating the slave. And so, and he buries him in the sand, and then he runs away. And so what happens is when he runs away, he ends up in the desert, right? Right, yes. Um, and so for how many years was he in the desert and then went into um to his father-in-law? Forty years, yeah. So for 40 years, he's he's wandering and trying to find a new identity, new life, and trying to find out who he is, you know, because he knows that he is an Israelite now. And so he ends up um uh joining a family, marrying a lady, and and uh he's out tending to uh the flocks, and he sees a burning bush on the side of the mountain, and he feels that, you know, calling to him. Personally, I might not have gone toward the bush. Yeah. I'd be like, what is this? You know, he might have been a little more courageous than than you are. But but but he was led. We know we know now he was led to that, and then that God began to speak to him and and let him know who he was, that he had been chosen, and and and to go and and and with the help of the Lord to to get those people set free out of captivity. And and so if you don't know that story, go back and and do that. But part of the thing that happens that God gets the attention uh of that pharaoh is by um the angel of death descending those plagues. There's ten plagues, and then and on that very last plague, the angel of death comes, and the angel of death um actually um goes through uh the whole place, but the only way that the angel of death would pass you by is if they had took um uh a lamb uh and took the blood of the lamb and put over the doorpost. And so if they put the blood over their doorpost, then they were covered by the blood. I love that. Yeah, and so if they were covered by the blood, the death angel would pass them by. And so after that, and that happened, and then because of that, Pharaoh did let them go, even though he did come and try to catch them at the Red Sea. I think he was mad because his son his son died, died, yeah. So, um, and so in that they began to celebrate yearly the Passover. Uh, it meant that the death angel had come but had passed them over um because the blood had been applied. So going forward, here comes Jesus, and I love this.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

Passover Story And Moses

SPEAKER_00

And so Jesus comes and he becomes the Passover lamb. God wraps himself in flesh and he becomes the perfect Passover lamb. So that on the day they're gonna celebrate Passover, right? They're gonna celebrate, they have a meal. Um, and at this meal, Jesus washes the feet of the disciples. It's a powerful story. If you haven't, if you've not ever read it, go read it. Um, but Jesus is telling them at this meal, here's my body, here's my blood that's gonna be broken for you, that's gonna be spilled out for you. Yes, and they're going, What are you talking about? You know, and even Peter begins to rebuke him, don't say that, you know, and he and he tells him, get behind me, Satan, because this is what he came for to become the perfect Passover Lamb. And so much, I want you to know how much the God of the universe cares so much and is so particular about everything that goes on that at the time that he was being crucified, the exact time, the exact day that he was allowing himself to be crucified. I want to add that in there uh because he willingly did this. It says that at that same hour, it was the time of the day that every Passover they would take the lambs to the temple and sacrifice themselves at the same hour.

SPEAKER_01

And he be so that means he became the sacrificial lamb.

SPEAKER_00

He became the perfect Passover lamb for us. Yes. Look, if I had to go out and kill little baby lambs and turtled doves and whatever else that, you know, that had to be sacrificed, or you know, goats and whatever, I don't know if I would be, you know, so good at that. You know what I'm saying? But Jesus said that's not even enough. Um there has to be a perfect, unblemished uh lamb sacrifice, and only I can do it. Right. The creator of the universe from the very beginning of time made provision for your sin and mine before we ever were created, before there was even a creation. Yes. Think of that.

SPEAKER_02

And if you look at two, every year they had to do this. But once Jesus did it, he covered it all.

SPEAKER_00

He covered it all. He he covered all the past, present, and future sin already.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So if you're listening, it's because you were chosen. God chose you to listen to this. He chose this time for you to know this is your appointed time. This is your time that you can understand, no matter what you've done in your past. No matter what. Moses had killed a man. Yes. Moses had killed a man, yet God still chose him to use him to go and save a whole nation. And so it doesn't matter what you've done, how far away and how bad you think you are, you're not too far gone for Jesus. And he's calling you. And so he already has made provision for you. He's already made provision for the sin that you've done. He's already made provision for the sin you're gonna do. You just have to choose today to repent.

SPEAKER_02

Jesus doesn't call the qualified, no, he qualifies the called.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but he can only do that if you submit. Yeah, you know, you have to submit to that.

SPEAKER_02

You have to say, He used He used so many people in the Bible that were not perfect. I mean, you know, Peter. A drunk. You know, Noel was a drunk. Paul was a murderer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, did y'all mention Mary? Yeah, now yeah.

Jesus As The Perfect Passover Lamb

SPEAKER_00

Mary Magdalene. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, there were so many, there's so many other examples, almost everybody else. Yeah. That had a past that that Jesus said, it's okay. You know, it's okay. I can use you if you repent. You turn to me. I can use you. Yeah. And you're here because you're chosen at this time and this place to be here. You were not an accident. You might have been a surprise to your parents. But it wasn't an accident. But you were never an accident. Uh Psalm 139 says, I knew you before I formed you in the womb. He did that. God, the creator of the universe, did that for you specifically and placed you there for a purpose. Yes. And you have a purpose. Your life might feel like it's out of out of control because the world feels out of control. But don't let that be your deterrent. You were chosen to be here, whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever nation, country, city, town, it doesn't matter. Jesus and the creator of the universe chose you right now to be here. That's all you need to do. All you have to do is repent and ask Jesus to come and live in your heart. Now we got a whole lot we want to do. We want to go into these feasts, but we want you to understand that these first feast, Jesus in the spring, the spring feast, Jesus already fulfilled. Okay? Passover, he was crucified, became the perfect Passover lamb. The next feast is the unliving bread. That means the unclean thing. Those things that that that he had to be the he had to be perfectly unclean, perfectly clean to go into that tomb. Jesus is the only one who never sinned. The Bible says he never sinned. He faced everything that we've ever gone through. He faced it, but he did it without sin. So he became that unleavened sacrifice. He went into the tomb. He was the unleavened bread. He was the clean. He was put into that tomb and buried. Now, on his day of resurrection, those three days later, he became our first fruit. Right. First fruit. Okay. So he fulfilled that. And then we know that fifty uh 40 days later, that he uh after he was resurrected, um, he went back to heaven. And he ascended back to heaven, told his disciples, look, I'm going, uh I'm going back to heaven, but I'm gonna return for you. And he says, But I'm going so that the Holy Spirit can come to you.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

Fulfillment Of Unleavened Bread And Firstfruits

SPEAKER_00

Now they didn't understand what that was, right? No. They had a time where where Jesus breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit, and they got that power upon them. I mean, they had the empowerment to do what they needed to do. But Jesus said the Holy Spirit's gonna come in you. In you, and so he told 500 people that were standing there. They just they give a number of about 500 people were standing there. Now Jesus has been resurrected, he comes back to life, he walks among everyone, okay, and does more miracles, more signs, more wonders as the risen, crucified Passover lamb. Right, right. And and then he tells them, Okay, I'm gonna go, I'm ascending back to heaven, I'm sending the comforter, go into Jerusalem and wait. Okay. So we know that about 500 people heard that. Yet 10 days later, when they're in the upper room, which is the same place where they had had the Passover supper, okay? So they were familiar with that place, but it says that that that uh all of them went to the upper room, including Mary, his mother, and his brothers and his sisters are in the upper room when it says suddenly a rushing wind. A rushing wind.

SPEAKER_02

Mighty wind came in and tongues of fire, and tongues of fire, clothes of fire came upon them, yeah, and they began to sh speak in tongues.

SPEAKER_00

Now they were in one mind and one accord. That means, unfortunately, that 380 people had other things to do.

SPEAKER_01

They were impatient and couldn't wait.

SPEAKER_00

They couldn't wait. Yeah. They had probably had a cookout somewhere that day or there was a football game or whatever. Yeah. I mean, there was just whatever it was that they did not go and wait, like Jesus said, because you're talking about 10 days later, uh, people don't want to wait ten minutes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, they don't want to, I mean, they can't wait past an hour and a half on Sunday, or the message is too long. You know, and so ten days in a room with people, and now you're at 120 in a room. No air conditioning. Ah, in the desert, you know. But but the point is, those that went and did what Jesus said to do, yes, man, that empowerment came. The Holy Spirit came and it says they all began to speak in tongues and in other languages. And and it was funny because when we talk about speaking in tongues, people are like, that's just crazy. Um but one of our uh one of our friends that works in the ministry, um uh she said that she recorded herself uh uh speaking in tongues, and it tell it and AI told her that it was what Chinese told her she's speaking in Chinese.

Pentecost And The Holy Spirit

SPEAKER_02

I said, I I I thought it was something, you know, but but someday she was gonna run into somebody that speaks Chinese that she'll be able to witness. She'll be able to witness to, right?

Life Led By The Spirit Vs Flesh

SPEAKER_00

So um, so anyway, so they so they received uh the Holy Spirit. So then the the feast of Pentecost was fulfilled, right? Right in the Holy Spirit coming right to be with us, not just with us in us. So when you receive Jesus, you repent and you ask Jesus to come and to live inside of you. He does in the form of the Holy Spirit. Yeah, now look, you don't get just a little tiny bit of the Holy Spirit, and then if you act right, you get more. There's no there's no gauge like that. What happens is all say it again, all of who Jesus is comes and dwells inside of you. Yes, all of him, and every day after that, you get to decide how much you give him control of your flesh. The battle is every single day between the spirit and the flesh of who's gonna control this body and who is gonna get listened to today. So is the flesh gonna win today or is the spirit gonna win today? It's up to you. But every single day we're conforming, or we should be, should be, should be, conforming into the image of Christ. So if we're spilling out hate and we're celebrating death of a person, that's not Jesus. No, you got something nasty in you, you got something that you need to repent. You need to repent and ask Jesus to forgive you. Ask him to come and live inside of you, because I guarantee you, he's not living there with that nasty. And I don't care if you're a pastor, I don't care if you're a preacher, I don't care if you've been in ministry 500 years, I don't care. If you can talk like that and you can celebrate that, and you can be ugly like that, that's no fruit of the spirit. That's not who Jesus is. No. That's not who Jesus is, and I don't care if you watched a thousand reels that make you think that he was a racist, it doesn't give you a right to be ugly and to say hateful, nasty things. You should just say, we'll pray for them and we move on. Right. We pray for them and we move on. There's a lot of people I don't like them, I don't like their politics, I don't like what what they stand for, but I never can hate somebody and say I carry Jesus with me. Yeah, there's no way. There's no way. So if you found yourself on the other side of that, spilling out all that nastiness, repent. Repent and ask Jesus to come and and show you that that that's just not what he would be. That's not who Jesus is. We all need WWJD bands on our sh on our hands. I was just thinking that. Yeah, we need to because back in the day, if you had that WWJD, yeah, what would Jesus do?

SPEAKER_02

And then look down at your wrist and go, yep, I'm gonna behave.

SPEAKER_01

Well, definitely wouldn't definitely wouldn't be doing that. I don't think you need to just repent, you need to ask for forgiveness.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just that that's that's what it is. That's what repentance is. I'm sorry, God. I'm sorry. I I failed you. I failed to be you, I failed to be you today. Yes, uh you know, I said ugly things about people, I failed to be you today. That's powerful. You are supposed to be the hands and feet of Jesus and mouthpiece. If your mouth was saying anything contrary to what he would say, then repent. And it's simple like that. Yes, and you're supposed to show love, you know. We get to the end of this and we're almost to the end. Um, you're supposed to show that love. Show who Jesus would be. Yeah, and Jesus would have never celebrated something like that. No. Now, he was good about telling the Pharisees and Sadducees um that they were a brood of vipers, yeah, and things like that. And and he would get angry about it, and it was okay that he did that, but he never went and killed any of them. No, he never went. I mean, he could have easily said, You're dead, die. You know, he could have smote them down like an ash.

SPEAKER_02

There is a difference in rebuking someone and just being downright mean.

Rebuke, Mercy, And True Christlikeness

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. But the only reason that Jesus would say anything like that is because the religious people who should have known that he was the fulfillment of the law was too religious to realize he was.

SPEAKER_02

I think exactly they also said, if he is the most powerful one, then where are we going to be able to do that?

SPEAKER_00

But that was the problem. Yeah. Is that they didn't want to lose their position and their power and their prestige uh by accepting that the messiah had actually come.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They're still looking. Yeah, exactly. They're still looking for the messiah. Yeah. Because they don't want to lose their positions uh to realize that he's already come. And and we were reading something the other day about six things why they say Jesus isn't the Messiah. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, this is ridiculous. And so because he so fulfills over 300 prophecies of scripture. Yeah. Right. Jesus fulfills over 300 prophecies from thousands and hundreds of thousands of years ago, thousands of years ago, he so perfectly has fulfilled it to be the considered the Messiah. So when you're a religious person who follows the law and reads the the uh prophetic words of Isaiah and Jeremiah and Hosea and Ezekiel and all of that, and yet you still say he doesn't, then that just means that the blinders are on and you're not you're not gonna do that.

SPEAKER_02

If the thing too, they had to look at the what was the name of the I can't my mind just went blank, the cloth that was in the Holy of Holies that was torn. The veil that when the veil was torn, that opened the Holy of Holies and said, anybody can come in here to know.

Prophecy Fulfilled And The Torn Veil

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so if you don't know the if you don't know scripture, when the crucifixion took place, and when Jesus had said, the Bible says he gave up the ghost. Yeah, um, and he says it is finished, it says that there was an earthquake, the earth shook. Yes, and the and inside the Holy of Holies in the temple, yeah, um, that divided, you know, only the high priest could go in there once a year. Um, because the Holy of Holies was so holy. Yeah, the presence of God was there, you know, on the Ark of the Covenant. And so when when that when He said that and the ground shook, it says this huge uh veil that separated the two was torn. And and it gave access that the Holy of Holies was now exposed. Why? Because when we receive Jesus, we have direct access to him. Exactly. That's why we can boldly come before the throne of grace and say, God, I need you because I have screwed my life up. I made some bad choices. Bad choices. I need your mercy, God, I need your mercy, and just repent and ask and just fall upon uh in deliverance, Jesus' mercy, you know what I'm saying? And let him deliver you and let him just set you free. That's what he did. That's that's how he fulfilled all of these spring feasts. He was the perfect Passover lamb, he was uh the unleavened, he was in the tomb. He was the first fruit, yes, you know, and he was the fulfillment of Pentecost through the Holy Spirit. Now, when we come back, we're gonna do a second part uh to this, and we're gonna talk about the fall feast. And it's important because we're at the fall feast starting this week, and I wanted to show you some things that we've learned this this coming week.
