Simple Discipleship - UNFILTERED
Supernatural Interventions: Angels, Voices, and God's Perfect Timing
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Have you ever wondered if angels walk among us? Our latest episode of Simple Discipleship Unfiltered takes you beyond the veil of ordinary experience into the extraordinary reality of divine intervention.
Around our discussion table, our guests including Bro. Ernie and Sis. Patti, share breathtaking testimonies that will challenge your understanding of how heaven touches earth. A couple stranded in a blizzard receives a visitor who disappears without footprints in the snow. A woman facing certain danger on a mountain ledge experiences supernatural rescue while, unknown to her, a stranger miles away is prompted by God to intercede in prayer for her. Mysterious helpers appear at precisely the right moment to rescue a group stuck in a dangerous area, only to vanish and reappear impossibly at another location.
These aren't just fascinating stories—they're powerful testimonies to God's active presence in our daily lives. The most compelling aspect? Many experiences include independent verification: multiple people hearing identical divine messages simultaneously or strangers approaching later with specific knowledge of private spiritual encounters that confirms their supernatural nature.
"When God tells you to pray for someone, don't argue with Him," one guest emphasizes, sharing how immediate obedience to divine prompting saved a friend's life during a medical emergency. Another recounts how speaking in tongues serves as a spiritual lifeline, allowing believers to "intercede for something happening" beyond their conscious understanding.
Whether you're a seasoned believer or spiritually curious, these authentic encounters will strengthen your faith in a God who breaks through in tangible ways. They remind us that divine intervention isn't confined to biblical times but continues today through angelic visitations, supernatural protection, and the still, small voice that speaks directly to receptive hearts.

Hey y'all, welcome to Simple Discipleship Unfiltered. I'm your host, Sister Diana. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey today. Can we be real? Being a Christian is not always easy, but you are not alone. So grab you a drink, grab you a snack. Let's open the word and see what Jesus has to say today. Hey, welcome to Simple Discipleship Unfiltered. This is Sister Diana, and I am around the table again with all of my friends and we're just talking about things that are just on our heart, that we want to talk about, while we've got Brother Ernie here to my left. How are you doing, brother Ernie?
Speaker 2I'm doing good.
Speaker 1Thank you Good Thank you for being with us, sister Ann. Hello, sister Patty. Yes, sister Ann. Hello Sister Patty. Yes, sister Adia, good afternoon. Sister Tammy, hello, and Sister Sandy sneaked off somewhere but she'll be back. But anyway, we're just around the table just asking some questions and thoughts are on our minds and I just want to add this in if you have a topic suggestion or if you have a question, go to our website, wwwm3miorg, and leave it there. We have a contact there that you can fill out. It'll come to us and we can do it online. So, um, I encourage you to do that. We're going to continue with our questions.
Speaker 3Sister audio, go ahead um, my question is probably a little different here, but something that's always I don't know what it just keeps coming back in my head is that the jews for years were persecuted by every other country or nationality or whatever around, and they knew the pain and the trauma of persecution. Yet they turned around and did the same thing to the Christians?
Speaker 2Yes, they did.
Jewish Persecution of Early Christians
Speaker 3Okay, yes, they did. Okay, um, and rather than to me, it would have made a lot of sense for them to say okay, you want to go, the gentiles, we don't care anything about them. Anyway, go, go, talk to them, leave us alone. But they didn't. They still kept persecuting them. And I just said, how did they not understand? Or, look, knowing their history and everything that has happened to them, ever come to a realization that what they were doing was exactly what had been done to them?
Speaker 2I don't know that I have a satisfactory answer for something like that. I actually hadn't thought about that in that particular vein. But I know that when you reject God and you have consequences, you know, because Esau didn't value the birthright, the consequences were he lost both the birthright and the blessing because he didn't value the covenant. So it's not that he looked up from his youth and said I hate Isaac covenant. So it's not that he looked up from his youth and said I hate Isaac. But there came a time where or I'm sorry, I hate Jacob, but there came a time where he said you know what? I'm going to kill Jacob because I've lost the birthright and the blessing. He tricked me out of it. Well, he tricked you out of it because you never valued it and you didn't pay attention to the fact when it was dangling in front of you and you could have had it.
Speaker 1I think it's human nature sometimes we don't understand the value of what we have, amen.
Speaker 2I was in the hospital with a family. They had a member there dying. We were waiting for this person to die and one of the family members was talking to me and she said you know, I've been through this, I've been through that. I've been through some hard things, not only this, but like my husband, after all these many years. He divorced me, he left me. He didn't want me anymore, she said. But lately he came around the house and he told me. He said I know I've made a mistake, she said, but my heart is so wounded. I just looked at him and said yes, you did. There was no offer. Please come back, let's get back together. She said I was just, you're right, you did. You hurt me that bad.
Speaker 2There are sometimes we make decisions that the repercussions. We don't want to accept responsibility for the repercussions of our own decisions, and I think that all human beings have weaknesses, whether they're Jews, gentiles. We have human weakness and all that is is proof that, even though God blessed them, he didn't change them from being human beings. It was up to them to accept his blessing, walk in his blessing, be the reflection of his blessing. And they chose not to. I will say this from what I see now in social media and on television there are ministries of Jews and Christians that work together, and there will always be certain Jews who will hate Christians, just like there'll always be certain people who hate Asians or hate Irish or whatever. That's always going to happen. We just have to be sure we rise above it. But yeah, I don't know that I can give you the most satisfactory answer for that. That's the best I can do, so you can always ask somebody smarter.
Life-Changing Ministry Experiences
Speaker 1That's not a bad idea. All right, anybody else got a question. Anybody have a response to that? Yeah, anybody else got a question. What would you say in in all your many years I want to ask this to you and mama, in all your many years, because y'all have been doing this for a very long time what is the most unique experience that you've had since you've been in ministry, since you've been saved? What is something you say is? This moment has stood out to me more than anything else.
Speaker 2There have been a lot of things from my point of view. I've got one in mind, mama. What would you say? Take me off the hook, please.
Speaker 4Yes, would you say, take me off the hook please Back in 1964, this is a long time ago, but I was about 16 years old and we had not been going to church for very long. We went to a youth camp it was in June of 1964, and I went with one of my friends and she said, hey, go to the altar with me. I went, the Holy Ghost, and I'm going. Hmm, all right, now you got to think I had my hair was very, very short cut, like a boy's Somebody had given me this Wait a minute, somebody had given me this god-awful dress she didn't look like no boy when I met her.
Speaker 2I'm going to tell you hallelujah.
Speaker 4I was not raised in church, right. My mother was an alcoholic, my daddy was a workaholic. I had very few friends because I didn't know, if I brought friends home, whether to find my mother on the floor drunk or some other things going on on the floor.
Speaker 4So I had very few friends going on on the floor. So I had very few friends. And one day my mother came. My father came to me first and said I can't take it anymore. I was 14 or 15. And he said I can't take it anymore, I'm going to divorce your mother. And on top of that she was in and out of mental institutes most of my life. And he says I can't take it anymore, I'm going to divorce her and you can go with her or you can stay with me, I don't really care. The next day was a Saturday and my mother came to me and she said you've got to take me to church. And I'm going, sure, to church. Sure, I was going to a different church that didn't believe. Let's just say that it.
Speaker 4It was not a pentecostal church that I was going to. And so, um, I said, okay, she says, but the church you go to does not believe in miracles. And I need a miracle. And I found this little thing in the newspaper saying that there was a new pastor at this church on the other side of town. So in that church I had gone to one time with my grandmother, and now, listen, I had on go-go boots, black leather, and my hair was spiked.
Speaker 3And I walked through the back door.
Speaker 4I walked through the back door and the preacher started screaming and hollering there's black sin in this church. And I looked at my grandmother. She said just come on and let's go sit down. So that was the last time we went to that church, but that's the one my mother wanted me to take her to the next day. So the next day we went to church.
Speaker 4That was december the no, november, the third, 1963, and so within a month my mother was baptized, filled with the holy ghost. My father said it won't last, and they never got a divorce, stayed with my mom and dad, and so the next year in in June. In June we went to a youth camp and my hair hadn't grown out it's still kind of orange or green or whatever and I just I can't. Anyway, I had on this stupid ugly dress that somebody had given to me because I didn't wear dresses. Anyway, I went down to the altar with my girlfriend so she could receive the Holy Ghost. She didn't want to go by herself. But within just a few minutes I was speaking in tongues. But within just a few minutes I was speaking in tongues.
Speaker 4And a lady that was speaking at the camp meeting by the name of Vesta Mangan and the man that was also speaking and his name was Brother Black and he was from St Louis and she was from Alexandria, louisiana.
Speaker 2She's still alive.
Speaker 4She's in her late 90s.
Speaker 2She's in her 90s. She's still powerful.
Speaker 4She laid her hands on me and I started speaking in tongues, and after I don't know how long it was 45 minutes or so she said if you spoke any longer, I would have ordained you as a missionary now. Wow, I would have ordained you as a missionary now, and so that kind of was announced. You know, that was a pivotal point in my life. Yeah, and people look at me that I must have been born and raised in this thing.
Speaker 2And I was not For myself, as you were talking, Mama.
Speaker 1I just can't even think. My mind is like in Mama with go-go boots and short hair. And leather yeah.
Speaker 2We're not going to have that conversation with y'all, we want pictures.
Speaker 3No, no, no.
Speaker 2If there's any pictures like that, I'm keeping them.
Speaker 3I think that just shows how different y'all were in our younger days.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, because I know.
Speaker 3Diana said when I started giving my testimony, that time she went, I thought I knew you.
Speaker 2Well, what came to my mind? Several things rolled over in my mind while Mama was talking. Years ago we were volunteers on the staff in Big Spring, texas, a church there. It's a growing, thriving church. Great move of God. Yeah, lots of people knew. Coming into the church seemed like all the time. But we were teaching a home Bible study to a family and they're still alive today Royce and Carol Coyle. And while we were in the middle of helping them get rooted in Bible study, royce gets his friend Leon to start coming to the Bible study and prayed with Leon.
Speaker 2He did all the things that a Christian would do and sometimes people misunderstand. That doesn't mean he hounded him. That means he loved him and he prayed him in, loved him and he prayed him in and, uh, finally, one night, after leon had repented and had quite an experience uh, with god, I'm gonna skip that one. He, uh. He finally told us he's, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm gonna come to church, I need to get baptized, I'm gonna receive the holy ghost, he said. But I'm telling you I'm not going to be like them people that are out of control in that Pentecostal church. You people, you lose your minds. He said, I want, I know it's true now, I know you can get the Holy Ghost, but just let you know ahead of time that's not happening to me. I said well, you know what goes on between you and God, that's it. Well, the church, it seemed like it. Even though we weren't in a revival with an evangelist, it seemed like we had been rolling for almost a year in this, riding this particular wave of the Holy Ghost that he'd come through. And so Leon had decided he was going. Yes, going, yes, yes, he was there, jim was there preaching. So they were. It was a time of revival.
Speaker 2This, this guy was preaching revival when we first came, and then a year later, so he was come back around. So he's preaching and, uh, he gives an altar call and Leon decides I'm going to go down and get prayed, for he's probably two-thirds of the way back in the building and we're sitting behind him. We usually sit up front, we like to be right up front, but this particular night we're sitting behind him and his wife, and I don't know why we weren't sitting further up, but I watched him. He put one foot out in the aisle and he started to walk down to the altar. I'm very excited for him. Thank you, jesus, hallelujah.
Speaker 2And he breaks out in a sprint and he literally sprints to the altar and, like a cartoon character, he comes to a screeching halt, throws his hands up in the air and screams and this was his prayer of repentance. Here I am, jesus, come and get me. I don't know what to say, I'm just stunned. I'm watching him. Then he starts jumping up and down and speaking in tongues Wow. And he starts spinning around like a Tasmanian devil and he runs all around the church and I'm looking at him and I'm going to say and he ain't going to act like us, he ain't going to lose control. Now, this man is an intellect, you know, and he walked with God for as long as we knew him.
Speaker 4He passed away a couple of years ago.
Speaker 2He and his wife and I'm not going to tell you that they had a life where they never suffered, but I'm going to tell you God showed up when they needed him, and so some of the most amazing things of God. One other one One when we were on the Indian Reservation Navajo Indian Reservation we had seven years we had a demon manifest one night outside of our bedroom window.
Demonic Manifestation and God's Voice
Speaker 2And at that time I didn't have a bow or a pistol, I wasn't interested in hunting, I didn't have any weapons. I was thinking about hunting with a bow and arrow to learn it and teach it to my sons, but didn't have any equipment yet. Just all of a sudden, in the middle of the night don't know what time it was it was late 30.
Speaker 4You got to the reason why. Wait, wait, I wasn't going to say any names. We had a young man that was in the seventh grade and he wanted to come and spend Christmas with us, and his grandparents were in the Navajo Way Church, and so they don't believe in God the way we believe in God. So this young man came to spend some time with us.
Speaker 2At any rate, there was a manifestation, a demonic manifestation outside of our window and I know what a bear sounds like, or a mountain lion or a wolf growling or a mountain lion or a wolf growling, but it was like something out of a horror film and it was frightening. It frightened me.
Speaker 1It terrified me.
Speaker 2And I thought to myself at that point I don't even have a gun. It took me a moment to recognize it was demonic, and then I did. And then the Lord spoke to me and said I give my beloved rest, rebuke that thing in Jesus name and go back to sleep. So, with all the courage that I had, I pulled the blanket up over my head and whispered so loud that only Jesus and the devil could hear, and I said I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. And I closed my eyes and held them tight because I didn't think I could go to sleep. I squeezed them tight and then, after I squeezed them tight, I'm just going to relax and open them up now and deal with it. And it's daylight, and so I sat up in the bed and Mama sat up and the first thing she did was she didn't say good morning, you, handsome thing, you, which I don't know why she wouldn't, but she didn't say that she said I love you, baby she says did you hear that thing outside the window?
Speaker 2I said, yeah, baby, I heard it, but I didn't want to wake you up. I was terrified. She said I was terrified, but I heard a voice, and the voice said I give my beloved rest, Rebuke that thing in Jesus' name and go back to sleep. She said I did, and I shut my eyes, but when I opened them it was daylight. We both had heard the same voice of God. You wonder if there's precedent for that. But if you turn to acts chapter 13- while he's doing that.
Speaker 4When you, this young man, came into our home, he could not bring his demons with him.
Speaker 2They were not allowed in our home, and so they were outside our window in acts, chapter 13, it says now reading from the first verse, just a little bit of reading here now. There were in the church that was at antioch, certain prophets and teachers barnabas and simeon, that was called niger, and lucius of cyrene and manan, which had been brought up with Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul, that's Saul of Tarsus, who would become the apostle Paul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said it doesn't say there was a prophecy, it doesn't say there was a message in tongues and an interpretation. Read it closely. The Holy Ghost said separate me, barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them away.
Speaker 2In other words, everybody in that prayer meeting, however many was there, heard the voice of God, the Spirit of God in that room, say separate these people. And they couldn't deny it. And they laid hands on them and sent them. Mama and I both heard the same voice, the same how. I knew it was so true, because she had the same exact words that I heard and I didn't tell her what I had heard. So I have prayed for that experience to happen again ever since and I've never had it since. But I've heard the voice of God and I wonder how many in here could say you have heard God's literal voice. Yeah, it can happen.
Speaker 1Yeah, and.
Angelic Encounters on the Reservation
Speaker 2I don't know what makes him choose to do it. And if somebody told me I heard the audible voice of God every single day, I'd have to know him really well before I said I believe you, yeah, but if you want to tell me from time to time you've heard God's voice and you obeyed it, as a result he showed up. Of course I'm going to believe your testimony, but I you know moses didn't talk to god like that every day yeah, you asked some of the unique things that we've had while on the reservation.
Speaker 4we had angels manifest themselves in our home. Twice. That were really something Shocking.
Speaker 1Describe what because people have. Okay, because somebody asked this question the other day. Well, we're talking about something, but people ask the question about when angels manifest, what do they look like? What did the angels that manifested look like to you? Well, the young.
Speaker 4The first one, the first man at the station. He was very tall His hands. I've never seen hands like this man. His hands were different.
Speaker 2Huge hands.
Speaker 4And he came in to our home, knocked on our door. Now we lived on a highway called 666. That was the highway.
Speaker 2They've renamed it since then, but that's what it was.
Speaker 4It's 429 now or something like that, but it was 666 when we lived there and he knocked on our door and he came in. He was hungry and so I had some leftover spaghetti. He wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So I got, I made him a peanut, and then he took a knife and put it into the jelly and and licked it and put it back into the jelly.
Speaker 4I told him the jelly was his I don't remember all of the things that he told us or what he did. But he looked manly, but his hands were something else and he had kind of a soft glow. He was a nice man. He says I've got to go, I can't go, we're in a blizzard.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was snow out there like crazy.
Speaker 4It was very cold it was a snowstorm. He said but I have to go. And so he opened the door and left and I immediately told the boys open that door and make that man come back in. There was no footsteps.
Speaker 2No footsteps in the snow.
Speaker 4There was nothing up and down the highway. There was no cars, nothing. God had sent that man to us. I think that we had gone through some things and he just we needed some joy. He brought some joy in the house, but we had another one, the second one go ahead he appeared as a navajo yes, as a navajo indian.
Speaker 2He knocked on the door and, yes, there was spaghetti in the story again and he said he was hungry, he was from canensito that's the name. He said he was from canensito and he sat down and we asked him was he hungry? And he said yes, he was very hungry. And he said he was, uh, making his way back to canensito and we fed him. Mama made him spaghetti and eggs and just come?
Speaker 1did he just come to your door?
Speaker 2Just knocked on the door.
Speaker 4Came to the door.
Speaker 2And so, as he was eating, he started asking me. He said you know, in Canonsito we have so many preachers come through. How do we know who's a true preacher, how do we know who's a true man of God? And so I was telling him the best I could. You know God will witness it to you in your spirit and the word he brings you from the word of God will be the true word you know. And then I told him that you know he'll confirm for you that you need to repent, be baptized in the beautiful name of Jesus, be filled with the Holy Ghost, whatever he will call you to get your life right with God. So he said well, thank you.
Speaker 2And we wanted to make him some food to take. But he didn't know that he was going to leave and he went out the door and it was like that again I said if the door hadn't been closed five seconds, and I said to the boys I said call him back in here, we'll give him some food to take away anyway, get some water and they opened the door and they said dad there's nobody here.
Speaker 2Nobody, he couldn't have disappeared in five seconds. The highway was a 30-second walk, and so these are things. We had also another man that came and just wanted a glass of water and we had another man stop and tell us that the Lord sent him so that he could sing us a song of encouragement yes, that way and he just sang a song of encouragement.
Speaker 2He said I'll make it up right now. I'll make up songs and he sang it and he went out the door and, uh, he had a little pickup truck but he jumped in the truck, but then we didn't see the trucker him anymore. He got out on the road and we just he's gone, gone, I don't know you remember we talked about God's sovereignty. Whatever anybody else thinks, you'll know when God intervenes in your life and don't you let anyone take that testimony from you.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, and don't you let anyone take that testimony from you. Yeah, we experienced it not too long ago. We got stuck out in the in a bad place and they showed up I mean most unusual, I mean and and then they appeared again and it was like no way that they could have appeared again and we're like what just happened, you know, I mean, they were tattooed and everything, yeah, but, um, but I mean, and it was just, it was just surreal, right it?
Speaker 1was surreal I mean everybody here there was only where we were.
Speaker 3There was one way in and one way out yes and we never saw them follow us out. But when we stopped at this little grocery store, kind of gas station grocery store down the road they were in there.
Speaker 1Yeah, what had happened? We got out into. We went to look at some property we ended up on in a bad area, but we didn't know we were in a bad area, right, and then I got us stuck in audia's car in two foot of mud. Good job. After I just said don't worry, I'm gonna get it and all of a sudden, it says it was like, oh no.
Speaker 1So anyway, we were stuck and Cody was with us and we tried everything to try to get out of this mud and we just could not get unstuck and it was a dead end road. That's the thing. The reason why we got stuck is because we're looking for an address, gps, christina, what's her name? Aguilera took us down the wrong road and so we're at a dead end and we're like, okay, well, this isn't it.
Speaker 1So we turn around and we're coming back when we get stuck on this road, and we're just stuck, and so was it, cody went down and found the nearest house and the guy comes, but he didn't speak English very well, and he's like oh, I don't know, you know, I don't know how to help you, because where you would hook something into was under the mud and so we couldn't hook.
Speaker 1You know, the front of the car, and it was just the same way. He was just standing there going I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, and I was like, well, this is not going to help. And so, all of a sudden, just this white pickup truck comes barreling down this road at us and I'm like I don't know if he's going to stop, so let's just move out of the way. And they just zoom by us and slam on their brakes and they jump out and they're like there's two guys and a girl and and they say, what are y'all doing out here? I was like, well, we came to look at land why, would you want any land out here?
Speaker 1and I was like, well, it was cheap. And he's like it don't matter what it costs. You don't. This is not somewhere you need to be, you need to get out of here. I said, well, that's the plan, you know. But we're stuck. He was like I'll get you out and I mean within like it seemed like seconds, seconds we were out.
Speaker 1He had pulled something out of the truck, he hooked it up, he had us out of there. He was like now y'all go and don't stop. Well, as soon as we get to the end of the road, which there's only one way out, they're facing, facing this direction, we're facing this direction, and so they've got to turn around right. And so we're going. I'm trying to watch not get stuck again. And we go out to the stop sign, get to a main road and of course, the audience says I've got to go pee. Well, we're not supposed to stop, but I think that there's a place right down here. Just go in quickly. So we pull up. I mean, just right there, it's right there. We pull up. I said go in, don't talk to nobody, use the bathroom, come right back out.
Speaker 3And she said okay, so she jumps out, she goes in, they're there and they said, and they had food in their hands yeah, and the sign says bathroom or restroom for customers.
Speaker 1Only guy goes go yeah, and the guy tells her you go, and they're there. Here's the thing they're there, they've been there and they had food in their hands that they were feeding to the homeless out in the parking lot. Yeah, so who was?
Speaker 4the ones.
Speaker 3But they never passed us.
Speaker 4But they never passed us.
Guardian Angels on a Dangerous Road
Speaker 1They're God's guardian angels, and so that was my point is that stuff like that happens, and I think sometimes, like Scripture says that you could be entertaining angels unaware that's the truth, and so, um, and I know we all went, wow, we experienced it that day because we know that they got us out another one yeah and this one is angelic and I and you never saw them.
Speaker 4Another youth camp for little kids. We were up and out Cloudcroft and we were taking the kids down into a river and there was a lot of hiking and my husband said he had a dream that I could be killed that day and for me not to get on the hike. Don't go on the hike with the kids, stay behind. I love hiking and I was born and raised in those hills.
Speaker 1Don't go.
Speaker 4The kids were going down and Ernie stayed. I don't know why he stayed at the top.
Speaker 2I stayed to watch and make sure you didn't die.
Speaker 4Anyway, I got on a trail and all of a sudden I was on a ledge. There was no trail to that ledge.
Speaker 2She missed the trail.
Speaker 4I was just on a ledge.
Speaker 2She didn't leave with the group, she left afterwards, and so when she got down where she was supposed to turn, she went the wrong way and she ended up. I don't know how far were you 10 or 12 feet away from the trail you couldn't get back to the trail.
Speaker 4Couldn't get to it.
Speaker 2And there was nothing on the other end, and of course I am panicking.
Speaker 4Because there was no way.
Speaker 2Because I had had the dream and she was living out the dream and I'm thinking I'm losing my wife.
Speaker 4So I turned around and faced the mountain and Ernie and some several people were were praying up there and all of a sudden I felt hands and I actually was brought up to the top of the.
Speaker 2She slid up some 12 to 14 feet to be on another trail. She slid up the side of the mountain some 12 to 14 feet.
Speaker 4A few weeks later, we were at a meeting in Odessa.
Speaker 2Texas, Odessa, Texas. The first United Pentecostal Church of Odessa, Texas.
Speaker 4And this lady came up to me and she said Are you, Sister Perez? And I went, yes, and she said what were you doing on a certain day, at a certain time? And I said I was at a hike and I couldn't get off of the trail or couldn't get back on the trail. She said God told me to hit my knees and I prayed for you until God took that unction away from me. Wow, the same day, the same time, Wow.
Speaker 2Wow, I'm glad you told our story, mama, because listen, it's so important.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I feel the panic now that I felt then yeah, but this lady heard from heaven. I'm the good shepherd, my sheep know my voice and another they will not follow. She heard the voice of the lord. She went into intercessory prayer and God did the miracle as a result of that prayer. And I know the rest of us were up there praying and worrying, but the Lord had plucked this woman's heart and said I want you to do this right now. And then when she saw mama, she knew it was her that she had been praying for.
Speaker 2So it's so important that if God tells you to pray for someone, as we were married a couple of months and one night I woke up it was two, three in the morning, whatever I looked at Mama, I said we have to pray for Lynn.
Speaker 2She says, yeah, I know, but we didn't know why. So I don't always get on my knees to pray, especially we had a linoleum floor then, but we got on our knees beside the bed and prayed for I don't know how long, prayed for Lynn. Then, a few months later, we went to preach for him and so I asked him. We was at his house after church. I said Lynn, listen. A few months back, on Saturday night or Friday night, whatever it was God woke us up and we really prayed for you and he said. I was in the emergency room that day at that night, he said, and the doctors couldn't explain what happened to me, they did tell me that it looks like your blood veins had literally collapsed, he said, and I was there for a few hours before they said okay, you can go home.
Speaker 2we had no idea he was no you please, if god asked you to pray, don't argue with him. Yeah, don't put him off. Yeah, yes, because so oftentimes the prayers of god's people are like the tip of a spear, and the spear is a miracle that's thrown from heaven, yeah, and you get to be the tip of the spear, even if you never know why.
Speaker 3God's going to let you know in heaven going to let you know in heaven when you, when you say that I was telling them. The other day I was listening to a podcast and that sheets was on there and he was talking about how this number two kept popping up into things, like it was the this, the second month of the second day or something of February, and he was on a plane and he actually was seated in seat 22. Oh, wow, and God told him to go to Washington DC and pray for the president. He said the president's going to get some really bad advice and you need to go pray against that. And he went okay, whatever, you know. All right, fine, I'll be obedient, I'm going to go. And he said and he's in his hotel room, which again had the room it was like 222, his room. He said this was just so weird. And so he said he left the hotel. And he said go stand outside the White House and pray. And so he said he got there and he realized he forgot his overcoat and he's freezing and he's like he didn't know what he was supposed to be praying, but he was walking back and forth, kind of arguing with God about you know, look, I need to go back and get my coat. And he goes no, you need to stay here and pray, you know. And so he's walking back and forth.
Speaker 3And then he said all of a sudden he turned around and he didn't realize that this woman with a baby in a carriage was following him. And she asked if he was. She said are you Dutch, pierce? And he goes no, I'm Dutch, sheets, but I hang out with this guy named Charlie Pierce. And he said she said well, I was in my apartment and God told me to pray for you and to come tell you to follow his instructions. And she said I wasn't going to go because it's cold and I didn't want to take my baby out and I didn't have anybody watch it. But my husband said I better get, bundle up the baby and go. So he said. She said so, I'm here. And God said you better pray. And he told me to tell you. And he went okay. So he said he immediately prayed for you know, for the president at that time. But he said from that moment on he said when God tells me to do something or pray for somebody, I do it immediately.
Divine Rescue on a Mountain Ledge
Speaker 2I just thought that was yeah, how much time do we have left? Just a couple minutes. When I finally repented of my sins and came to Christ, I was stoned out of my mind. I was at a public park and uh, fell and hit my knees but what triggered it?
Speaker 1but what triggered?
Speaker 2it. There was these. There was these people that were in a cult and we were all making fun of them and they were coming through the park. All of us stoners were out there harassing them and they were playing the guitars and singing about Jesus, but I didn't know they were from a cult. Then I found that out with less than a week. They were a cult, but I fell to my knees and I looked up at the heavens and I saw what looked like a razor blade go through the sky and cut out like a 45-degree angle, roll back the sky and I saw these angels jumping up and down. I saw what looked like to me a sitar. They were playing musical instruments and they were jumping up and down and whirling around and I thought this is the drugs.
Speaker 1I got something bad.
Speaker 2So I looked down and I don't know how long I held my head down, I don't know, could have been 30 seconds, could have been 10 minutes, I don't know. But I just gave it enough time to think that, okay, I'll see Little Green Men instead, or something you know. And I looked up and they were still there and that stunned me and I found my place of repentance that night. And it was a couple of weeks later. I finally got talked into going to church. I received the Holy Ghost without ever going to church, and I had a co-worker from the First Assembly of God in Alamogordo. That was a genuine Christian. His name was Jerry Langefeld and he was trying to talk to me about being filled with the Holy Ghost. I said, man, shut up, I don't want it. I've been a Catholic. I've been in Baptist church. I've had people trying to convert me to numerology and black Muslims. No, I've done all the church thing and God wasn't there. So I'm not going to your church. God has shown up. I haven't received the Holy Ghost yet, but God has shown up. He's real. I'm not an addict. Even my language is cleaned up. I'm not surrendering what I have to go to somebody's church so that everybody can say they're good, I'm not going. But he finally talked me into going.
Speaker 2One of the things happened was I received the holy ghost and then I went back and was talking to him about it and so you need to come to church with me. I didn't want to go, but I thought, well, I'll go. I enjoyed it. The worship was great, the singing, and after service this lady walks up to me and she says God told me to tell you something. I was a stoner. Then I saw this thing in the sky. Then I had another little vision of a man in a cloud and then I was speaking in tongues and this was all overwhelming me. So I just looked at her and said, oh, that's okay. Now God's sending people to talk to me. Great, okay, fine. And she said I have to tell you that that night in the park there were angels rejoicing over your soul as you repented.
Speaker 1That got you.
Speaker 3Wow.
Speaker 2And I hadn't read that yet in the Gospel of Luke that the angels rejoiced.
Speaker 2We hadn't told anybody about it and I hadn't told that yet in the Gospel of Luke that the angels rejoice. We hadn't told anybody about it and I hadn't told anybody about the vision. And her name was Lorna Bowden and she was a friend of the Lingafelts. They all went to the First Assembly of God and they were really instrumental in me getting rooted in the idea that the Bible is right and that you need to pray. And even though I moved on from there, I discovered baptism in Jesus' name and I had to embrace it. I learned that the God of Abraham, isaac and Jacob is the only God and he's not confused about his identity and he's not confused about his identity Right. And so I did separate from them, although I have good friends still in the Assembly of God and we have good fellowship. But my point is God sent me someone to let me know that wasn't just the drugs.
Speaker 3Right, right.
Speaker 2That was a genuine vision.
Speaker 3Wow yeah.
Speaker 2Don't ever decide who God can and can't use.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I mean there are certain things that I won't partake in, but I'm glad those people go to church and I'm glad they pray and I appreciate whatever's going on in their life. Just because I can't embrace that, that doesn't mean I'm ungrateful to God and that I don't see that he's at work.
Heavenly Confirmation of Spiritual Experiences
Speaker 1Yeah, I think that's what's so amazing is a lot of people don't embrace the prayer language, you know speaking in tongues, because they confuse what they say is in Scripture about. You know Paul saying that that's going to cease and all this and that's a whole nother podcast for a whole nother day. But you know, we teach that, we teach that it comes with it Right and so, whatever timing that that is, but I encourage the girls, the ladies that I get to work with to use it, to use that prayer language, that communication.
Speaker 2You yield to that spirit any place you're at.
Speaker 1Yeah, but I think it's so important, especially nowadays, because we can get so busy. When you feel that come out of you, let it come out, because you're interceding for something. There's something that's happening.
Speaker 2Yeah, that needs your participation, you know, paul told the Corinthian church, when you're speaking in a language that no one else understands, you're praying like that, that you're speaking mysteries between you and god, yeah, and building yourself up in your faith. And jude said to build yourself up in the most holy faith, yeah and and paul said forbid not to speak in tongues.
Speaker 2There's nothing you know. People talk about that like if you speak in tongues and there's no interpretation. That's wrong. That's not what scripture says. It says you're building yourself up in your most holy faith. You just don't need to try to dominate the service with what you're doing. But that don't mean you and God can't have this conversation. Two different things, yeah.
Speaker 1And so I encourage in our daily walk, because we're developing this personal relationship with who we carry inside of us, carry inside of us um, and to allow him, when he, when he gives us that urge to something, comes out, let it come out, because you don't know what that's interceding for or what it what it's all about, because you know at any given moment, uh, something like you were saying something could be happening to a friend of yours. You don't't even know it, but he does.
Speaker 2Amen.
Speaker 1He already knows, and so to yield to that and. I think we're all seeing that more and more. Amen. We're seeing that just pop out, sometimes at the most unusual times. But just roll with it. You know I tell them, just roll with it, let it roll out.
Speaker 2You know there's nothing sweeter, nothing that let it roll out.
Speaker 1You know, there's nothing sweeter than setting together me and Mama, having devotion and the Spirit of God, start to fill that house. Yes, yeah.
Speaker 2You don't need to wait for church for that to happen. I don't tell Mama every Friday night gee, I love you. I tell her every day. You don't need to make Jesus wait. You need to talk to Him every friday night gee, I love you.
Speaker 1I tell her every day you don't need to make jesus wait. Yeah, you need to talk to him every day. Yeah, build that, build that relationship. Yeah, man, it's been fun. Thank y'all for being with us today. Thank y'all for being around the table. Speaker 2I readily admit I don't have all answers, but we'll sure consult the Lord.
Speaker 1That's right. That's right so we can go and find it. If we don't know it, we'll go and find it. So I'm just so encouraged to all of you that are listening, all the many countries, that this is going out to all the cities and states, and God's just showing who he is. You know, we're not anything but just being yielded to what he wants us to do, and I'm grateful for each one that I get to work around with with this table and it's just been a really awesome experience. But we always close our podcast by saying our slogan right To go, show some love, show some compassion and give mercy and go be Jesus today.
